our team!SummaryThis role is a direct report to the General
Manager. The Engineer, will be responsible for the review, status
follow-up, and expediting of customer orders. They will provide
additional daily communication with customers in coordination with
sales, quality, and other staff. In addition, they will support
data entry and quoting utilizing metallurgical knowledge to assist
customers with technical needs, and liaison between customer and
engineering/quality to drive optimal turnaround time and quality of
service.Major Responsibilities
- Interfaces with customers, technical resources, and management
to understand and solve technical problems using metallurgical
training, industry specifications, and best practices.
- Reviews purchase orders and contracts for discrepancies and
follow up with clarifications via phone, email, or other
communication
- Responsible for customer order follow-up and status
communication during the life cycle of the order. Will liaison with
other members of the team as needed including sales, quality, and
other metallurgical or technical resources.
- Assists with scheduling and prioritizing orders as needed
- Enters customer orders in the computer, assuring information is
accurate
- Works closely with other specialists for quality control and
bring any irregularities, discrepancies, or concerns to the manager
immediately.
- Works closely with management team and perform other duties as
necessary, or as assigned or dictated by position.
- May support contract review, heat treat, generate, and sign
certifications.We Are Seeking Candidates With The Following
Qualifications
- This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements,
therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident
Card Holders.
- Education - Undergraduate degree in Metallurgy/Material Science
is desired
- Must have materials knowledge and ability to understand and
learn the processes being performed
- Ability to be fast learning, work with others and work
independently while developing the knowledge of the heat treatment
business
- Effective verbal and written communication skills. Should be
able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.
- Action-oriented. Should be able to follow up on feedback to
ensure position outcomes for internal and external
