Job Description:
DescriptionGENERAL FUNCTION:The Site Director is responsible for
the day-to-day operations of a licensed school age program (SAP).
Site Directors are assigned a location within a region, district,
or department team. Working in collaboration with other Site
Directors and under the supervision of a Child Care and Camp Branch
Leadership team member, Site Directors work independently at their
location, supervise assigned group leaders and volunteers, manage
parent and partnership relations, are responsible for the site
maintaining all licensing regulations/YMCA policies, and ensuring a
high-quality program through implementation of approved activities
and routines. In addition to active engagement and interaction with
youth and families during program hours the Site Director will have
additional administrative duties outside of operating hours.
MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTSEducation/Experience Requirements:
Minimum age of 18 Must have High School diploma or equivalent Must
have minimum of 6 months job related experience working with school
age children, or a minimum of 15 hours academic creditKnowledge,
Skills and Abilities: The successful employee will demonstrate

professional appearanceis also responsible for preparing for daily
activities, maintenance and compliance of the child files, program
record keeping, communication with parents regarding their
childcare account.Job Requirements:Commitment to the YMCA mission,
vision, and valuesMust attend New Employee Orientation within 30
days of hireComplete Pediatric CPR/AED and First Aid, KDHE Health
History, Site Orientation, and other mandatory trainings in
accordance with Conditions of EmploymentMaintain a minimum of 16
hours of KDHE approved trainingLearn all emergency procedures and
action plans for the branch and or program site Understand and
abide-by all policies and procedures as set forth by the
association and per KDHE regulations for School Age Programs
(SAP)Work a schedule that reflects the needs of the program site
and department, including occasional weekends and evenings for
staff training and team meetings.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESStaff
Development:Develop and maintain personal relationships that
inspire trust and support positive staff connection to the program,
branch, and mission of the YMCA Hold staff and volunteers
accountable for following program procedures and policies Assist
and guide staff to support positive behavior management and staff
child relationships Work individually and as a team to develop
staff members, provide on-going feedback and coaching, and maintain
documentation of both successes and areas for improvement Complete
end of season reviews for all staff under your direct supervision
Report any issue or concerns immediately to your direct supervisor
Monitor staff timesheets, attendance and ensure all timesheet for
your director reports are submitted and approved on-time each pay
period Provide monthly information to your on-site staff regarding
Staff Wellness initiatives, Risk Management Policy
reviews/information and Staff Wellness initiatives and regularly
share information about association and branch priorities and
projects. Program Operations:Planning, supervising, and
implementing quality activity plans according to standards set by
KDHE and YMCAPrepare and post activity calendar, program schedule,
food service menus, and staffing schedule monthly, make changes as
they ariseBe actively engaged in program activities throughout the
session to build relationships with youth and be a role model for
staffFacilitate CACFP/SFSP program for food service as directed;
including daily and monthly documentation as requiredMaintain
accurate roster and communicate with Child Care Accounts any
discrepancies as well as changes in children's attendance status
Supervising proper organization, maintenance, and inventory of
equipment, supplies and food storage in all areas used by the
School Age program Effectively communicate the mission, vision, and
values of the Wichita YMCA. Check program email and voicemail daily
at the beginning and end of each session, monitor and follow up on
all communication within 24 hours Review child files upon receipt
to verify KDHE compliance and identify any medical, food or other
condition that requires additional information; follow up with
parents as needed Responsible for medication administration,
documentation, and maintaining accurate up to date medication forms
Apply program policies and procedures respectfully when responding
to staff, parent, and participant situations, concerns, or
challenges Respond quickly and effectively to accidents and
incidents while following YMCA and KDHE reporting policies and
submitting all required documentation in a timely manner Coordinate
staff supply requests and inventory weekly Plan, coordinate, and
document monthly safety drills Complete the "KEY/Camp Site
Checklist" each month and turn in as required Other duties as
assignedFiscal Management: Maintain clean and organized storage of
equipment and materials to prevent loss Complete and submit monthly
mileage and expense report by the 2nd of the following month
Monitor attendance and enrollment to ensure staffing ratios are
always met; report fluctuation and staffing needs to your direct
supervisor in a timely mannerStrong Community Campaign: Providing
leadership for assigned aspects of Strong Community Campaign,
special events and other fund development to ensure fundraising
goals are met Engage and actively participate in annual campaign,
including but not limited to solicitation of donations and
facilitation of impact tours Facilities Development: Maintaining
complete familiarity with all risk management procedures and
policies. Maintaining program area and equipment in an orderly,
clean, and safe condition; reporting any irregularities to
maintenance personnel and Program DirectorEFFECT ON END RESULT:
Ensuring leadership/guidance is provided and achievement of goals
and objectives of the Association and Branch result in high levels
of participation, satisfaction and retention of Child Care and Camp
participants and employees.
