Description
POSITION SUMMARY:The Clinical Content Manager assists with the
development of education/training materials, conducts and
coordinates training for clinicians (multi-departmental), nurses
and coders. The Clinical Content Manager will create and maintain
physician, provider and CDI training materials, tools and/or
records. This position assists with continuing education and annual
regulatory updates to in-house team members and external
clients.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops education and training materials for physicians and
providers for Accuity Healthcare and provides clinical components
to education programing for coding professionals and CDIs, which
may include preparation of related educational materials and giving
presentations (on-site and virtual)
- Assists with the orientation programs and online learning
module assignments for new Accuity Healthcare hires and external
clients
- Applies for continuing education credits (CEUs and CMEs) from
third party vendors for educations
- Maintains individual and client continuing education credit
logs for educations with CMEs offered
- Collects and/or coordinates the presentation of education
related data, compiles reports and graphs, and presents education
plans at client meetings in conjunction with the Client Success
team or the Director of Education
- Works independently under general supervision and utilizes
analytical and creative thinking skills to promote Accuity
Healthcare's philosophy and the department of education's
objectives to all education targets including current and
prospective Accuity Healthcare clients as well as in-house team
members, and the public in a national or regional conference
setting
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Education or senior
administration, including assignments to allow growth and expansion
of the department
Requirements
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelor Degree required
- Masters or Doctorate program graduate required
- Medical school graduate (MD or DO) preferredLicensure and/or
Credentials/Certifications:
- Advanced Practice Provider Certification (NP or PA) required
for non-physician applicants
- One or more of the following preferred
- CCDS or CDIP certification
- Health information management and/or coding credential from
AHIMA and/or AAPC (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, and/or CIC)
- AHIMA ICD-10/PCS trainer certificationKnowledge, Skills, and
Abilities:
- Must be well versed in regulatory requirements for medical
record documentation
- Must have demonstrated education/training skills;
creativity/knowledge of adult learning principles preferred
- Must be able to function as part of a team, using effective
interpersonal and instructional skills
- Professional executive presence required with attention to
detail and ability to manage confidential information
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving
skills. Including a proactive disposition towards identifying
problems and providing solutions.
- Knowledge of hospital/acute coding, billing, reimbursement and
third-party payer regulation
- Exceptional writing and editing skills combined with strong
presentation and public speaking skills
- Proven advanced skills in Microsoft Suite applications
(particularly Teams, PowerPoint, MS Word)
- Independent, focused individual able to work remotely or
on-siteExperience:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience providing direct clinical
care in an inpatient setting
- Direct experience providing education within healthcare
- Experience with electronic health records and health
information systems
- Demonstrated knowledge of MS and APR-DRGs
