About The Position We are seeking an experienced Occupational Medicine Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens assignment in Kansas. This two-day opportunity begins on Dec 11, 2025, and features day shifts from 7:00am to 5:00pm. The role involves conducting NFPA 1582 physicals and clinical testing for firefighters, including EKG interpretation, respirator clearances, and reviewing diagnostic studies. Job Details - Location: Kansas - Start Date: Dec 11, 2025 - LOA: 2 days - Provider Type Needed: Occupational Medicine Nurse Practitioner - Schedule: 7:00am - 5:00pm; complete 1 exam every 15-20 minutes Responsibilities and Duties - Conduct NFPA 1582 physicals for firefighters - Perform respirator clearance and interim firefighter clearances - Review and interpret EKGs, ultrasounds, and stress tests - Complete clinical testing including hearing, vision, laboratory studies, pulmonary function, cardiograms, and x-rays - Perform mandatory hernia exams; rectal exams are optional - Work collaboratively with the PHS team to ensure thorough and efficient clinical testing Additional Information - Firefighter physical or occupational medicine experience strongly preferred - Must hold current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - Must have Kansas state licensure - Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP) required - Ability to efficiently manage high patient volume with exams every 15-20 minutes Benefits - Strong compensation - Travel-related expenses covered - A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided - Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
