This opportunity is ideal for registered nurses who are specialized in intensive care and eager to deliver exceptional patient care on a contract basis in Wichita, KS. This ICU unit features 26 beds with a dedicated team of 15 staff members per shift, including registered nurses, charge nurses, and patient care technicians. Patient-to-nurse ratios range from 1:2 to 1:1 for high acuity cases such as post-CABG patients. The unit is outfitted with advanced technology including balloon pumps, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), hypothermia treatment, and ECMO support. The electronic medical record system utilized is Meditech. Key Responsibilities: Provide expert nursing care for trauma patients, post-CABG, post-TAVR, and general post-surgical ICU patients Manage complex procedures such as chest tubes, central line care, and medication drips Collaborate with an experienced multidisciplinary team to ensure high standards of patient care Maintain adherence to unit policies while fostering a positive, efficient work environment Qualifications and Desired Experience: Current RN licensure with ICU experience Mandatory certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC or ATCN Preferred: NIH certification Ability to remain organized, engaged, and demonstrate a positive attitude under high-pressure situations Location Highlights:Wichita, Kansas, offers a welcoming community with a blend of urban amenities and Midwestern charm.
