Job Description:
HCA Healthcare invites applications for the position of Nurse
Extern in the Acute Care Surgical Unit (ACSU). This role provides
an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience and direct
mentorship in surgical care, while actively contributing to our
mission of improving patient outcomes in a high-volume healthcare
setting. Duties include assisting with patient care under the
supervision of registered nurses, supporting various patient
management processes, and collaborating with a dedicated healthcare
team. Assist nursing staff with basic patient care and daily
clinical operations of the ACSU. Monitor, record, and report
symptoms and changes in patients' conditions and vital statistics.
Support the handling and setup of medical equipment, and assist
during examinations and treatments. Maintain a clean and safe
environment for patients and staff. Participate in educational
opportunities provided by HCA Healthcare to enhance skills and
knowledge. Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to
work collaboratively in a high-pressure environment Basic
understanding of healthcare safety and hygiene standards
Familiarity with healthcare terminology and equipment Medical
Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required by the end of the
externship. HIPAA certification recommended.
