Job Description:

An Optical Trainer is a highly engaged team member that possesses a high level of acuity in optical and contact lenses, and is focused on developing a patient-focused and goal-oriented team member.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Enhance processes and workflow by taking initiative to build action plans to increase the efficiency and profitability of the officeActively engage in constructive conversations with employees to help address improvement areas and formulate follow-up actionsActively train employees on how to provide a world-class patient experienceMotivate employees by remaining positive and communicating any changes or news in a supportive and constructive wayEnsure employees are always compliant with HIPAAFollow up with new employees after the initial training periodIntroduce and provide high level training for staff on active systems, optical equipment, anatomy of the eye, patient care, and office cultureComplete necessary task training documentsRequired skills include: order entry, lens enhancement understanding, PT RX knowledge, trouble shooting, payment allocation, insurance filingDemonstrates working knowledge of eye anatomy, diseases, and symptomsGeneral office duties and cleaning to be assigned by Regional DirectorOther Skills and Abilities:Reliable transportation that would allow employee to go to multiple work locations inside and outside of assigned region with minimal notice when applicableEducation and/or ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management or a related area of study preferredHigh School or GED requiredMinimum of 2 years of ophthalmology or industry-related experiencePrevious training experience preferredPhysical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
