Position Summary

The Developer/Operations Analyst participates in providing support for software and systems. Analyzes issues reported by customers. Provides both temporary and long-term solutions to issues by updating application code and scripts. Examines issues for recurring themes. Writes detailed notes regarding the steps taken to both diagnose and resolve issues. Performs computer operations processing coverage as needed (including both scheduled and on-demand jobs). Reviews aborted production runs and equipment failure to escalate problems and errors appropriately.

Responsibilities


  • Diagnoses issues experienced by customers. Routinely keeps customers notified of the status of their issues. Works directly with customers to obtain additional information needed to troubleshoot problems. Utilizes code and scripts to resolve customer issues.
  • Provides regular updates to management and identifies areas of concern. Recommends options to fix complex issues as well as ways to reduce overall support load.
  • Develops, writes, and maintains knowledge base articles and internal documentation to ensure effective utilization of systems as well as troubleshooting techniques. Provides briefing and training on best practices for business processes and procedures as needed.
  • Ensures appropriate testing is performed on potential issue resolutions.
  • Writes detailed root cause analysis documents for critical or high impact issues reported by customers.
  • Executes production schedule processing commands and jobs according to specified procedures on various applications.
  • Analyzes aborted production runs and equipment failure and notify appropriate personnel.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of system functions and application system processing to assist in evaluation of effectiveness and efficiency of computer operations; makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Strives for high available system uptime, especially after month-end, quarter-end and year-end processing.
  • Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as assigned.


    Minimum Qualifications


  • Education including a Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of software development; at least 1-3years of professional or academic experience in designing and creating software applications in these environments is preferred.
  • Experience with SQL and C# is preferred.
  • Skill in oral, written, and interpersonal communication; systems analysis and design; complex computer programming.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to develop short and long-range plans; travel on a limited basis in the performance of the job.
  • Regular attendance is required on this job, with the ability to work a full 8-hour day.
