Make this move and elevate your career to the next level!What you will do in this role:* You will assume responsibility for the leadership of the Nursing Department during non-business hours. * You will facilitate management of staffing and patient flow functions to assure safe and appropriate patient placement.* You will communicate with department leadership when issues identified to assure timely resolution.* You will be assisting leadership to ensure the stability and reputation of the hospital by ensuring compliance with all legal, licensure and accreditation requirements as designed by accrediting agencies.* You will also be communicating with the Quality Management department to identify potential QA or risk issues.* You will perform any necessary investigation, documentation and follow-up as required.* You will respond to patient complaints in accordance with WMC procedure, and acknowledge the importance of customer service and need for timely follow through on issues identified.* You will assume responsibility for nursing departments during non-business hours.* You will be serving as a consultant and/or resource to staff on operational issues for nursing.* You will counsel personnel concerning performance, attitude, and interpersonal relationships and address staff concerns in professional and timely manner.* You will be assuring an appropriate skill mix and staffing level in accordance with volume and patient acuity needs at the facility level.* You will focus on building relationships with physicians.* You will utilize necessary reports daily to monitor house workload and manager resources for the shift.* You will update the scheduling system prior to each staffing cycle.* You will be coordinating hospital diversion activities.* You will accept EMTALA reports from transferring facilities and forward the report to the receiving department.* You will need to manage stressful situations in a professional and appropriate manner.* You will be serving as a resource and mentor for nursing staff and the interdisciplinary team.* You will be completing written performance evaluations on all assigned personnel by the evaluation date.* You will need to possess knowledge of selection criteria for staff recruitment.What qualifications you will need for this role:* Current licensure in the state of Kansas as a Registered Professional Nurse * Current BLS, issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association* ACLS* Previous nursing experience* Bachelor's degree in Nursing* Previous supervisory experienceWesley Woodlawn Hospital & ER, a campus of Wesley Healthcare, provides patients with convenient access to expert healthcare, surgical care and emergency services.
