    JOB SUMMARY:Responsible for the implementation of the safety analysis process of Textron Aviation Business Jets, Turboprops and Single Engine aircraft systems in support of aircraft type certification. Assist systems engineering design teams with the safety related aspects of new product design and follow on certification designs for domestic and foreign certification activities.This role is contingent upon award of a US government contract to the Company.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Author System Safety Reports including Aircraft and System Functional Hazard Assessments, aircraft and system level safety assessments, Common Mode Analysis, Particular Risk Analysis and Zonal Safety Analysis
      • Perform reliability analysis including reliability prediction and Failure Modes and Effect Analysis (FMEA)
        • Develop and evaluate fault tree analysis and other qualitative and quantitative analysis
          • Assist systems engineers in developing and reviewing system safety requirement for design and installation of equipment and systems
            • Assist systems design and engineering teams in ensuring all aspects of 23/25.1309 compliance are addressed including reviewing certification plans and supporting reports
              EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
              • Bachelor's Degree from an ABET accredited institution required in:
                • Electrical Engineering
                • Mechanical Engineering
                • Aerospace Engineering
                • Other related STEM field
                  QUALIFICATIONS:
                  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
                  • Knowledge of multiple aircraft subsystems and how the systems function and interact with other systems
                  • Experience in System Safety/Reliability and/or aircraft mechanical, avionics, or electrical systems design and/or certification desired
                  • Working knowledge of the safety assessment processes outlined in AC 23.1309-1D SAE ARP 4761/4754A and the draft version of AC 25.1309 desired
                  • Working knowledge of RTCA DO-178 & DO-254 desired
                  • Previous experience with mechanical and/or electrical systems design, tools such as FMEA, fault trees, safety analysis beneficial
                  • Ability to work in a team environment and be able to clearly communicate thoughts and ideas with peers, management, and certification authorities
                  • Microsoft Office proficiency required
