Utilizes critical thinking skills and problem solving techniques based on medical judgments. Work is performed independently under the general direction of a written medical protocol and/or collaborative practice agreement. Maintains professional expertise and current licensure and certification. Maintains confidentiality in all areas of client contact at all times.Provide Quality Public Services through direct patient care and education.---Provide services to assigned percentage of encounters based on staffing availability.---Accurately enter the minimal required information on the pharmacy log as documented in charts and KIPHS as evident through monthly pharmacy audit.---Order tests, treatments and/or referrals appropriately per guidelines and protocols as evident through monthly peer review/audit.Assure Quality Public Services by providing excellent customer services and accurate data documentation.---Complete required program data collection forms (DAISEYs) by the end of business day.---Review clients' medical/health history, consent(s), vital signs, lab specimen(s) and document other pertinent information based on clients' needs and physical assessment per program policy and protocol.---Provide excellent customer services by responding timely to internal/external customers' questions or inquiries as evident through quarterly customer satisfaction survey.Support SC and DOH strategic plans by ensure success of programs' goals and objectives are met.---Support clinic program by working with team members to ensure that programs' goals and objectives are met.---Timely correction of audit errors.---Support Quality Improvement initiatives.Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Physician Assistant. Possess and maintain a valid, unencumbered, and unrestricted Kansas State Board of Healing Arts (for PA) or Kansas State Board of Nursing (for NP) license. Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (for PA) or National Certification Corporation, the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) (for NP). Current CPR certification. In order to comply with the requirements of the federal health care staff COVID-19 vaccination mandate, all employees of COMCARE and the Health Department must be fully vaccinated. All offers of employment are contingent upon submission of vaccination documentation prior to start date.Participates in the TB screening program that includes baseline screening for M. tuberculosis infection within 10 days of employment. Participates in the Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Control Plan that includes training, proof of hepatitis B immunity or vaccine, or vaccine series started within 10 days of employment. Provide proof of MMR, varicella, Tdap vaccinations, or immunity within 10 days of employment start date or within 10 days of start of employee health insurance.Employees will be enrolled in the respiratory protection program, which may include an annual fit testing and medical evaluation.This is a Tier 3 position; identified as personnel who, in a public health emergency, have the potential to be deployed to the field to participate in the response, including personnel who are already assigned to a field location.Bilingual individuals in English and a non-English language can take a fluency test in the non-English language. To ensure the competence of individuals providing language assistance at the Division of Health, only those who pass the test can use their non-English language with clients with Limited English Proficiency (LEP).Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in a science- or health-related field from an accredited college or university.
