Description:5 Axis CNC Machinist/Operator (1st & 2nd shift)Set up and operate a variety of 5 & 3 axis machines, cutters, and work holding tools to produce precision parts. Includes reading and understanding the function of precision instruments to verify product conformance. Position ResponsibilitiesCalculate dimensions or tolerances, using instruments such as micrometers or calipers and portable CMM or FARO.Machine parts to specifications, using 5 & 3 axis machinesSet up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations.Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines per set up documentation.Measure, examine, or test completed parts to check for defects and ensure conformance to customer using precision instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and faro arms.Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition.Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering information to determine product conformanceOperate equipment to verify operational efficiency.Diagnose machine tool malfunctions to determine need for adjustments or repairs.Confirm with engineering, supervisory, or inspection personnel to verify technical information.Fit and assemble fixtures and cutters to make or repair customer product.Dispose of scrap or waste material in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations.Separate scrap waste and related materials for reuse, recycling, or disposal.Evaluate machining procedures and recommend changes or modifications for improved efficiency or adaptability per Kaizen process.Basic SkillsActive Learning Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.Active Listening Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.Critical Thinking Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.Learning Strategies Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.Mathematics Using mathematics to solve problems.Monitoring Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.Reading Comprehension Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.Science Using scientific rules and methods to solve problems.Speaking Talking to others to convey information effectively.Writing Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.Complex Problem Solving Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.Technical SkillsEquipment Maintenance Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.Operation Monitoring Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.Operation and Control Controlling operations of equipment or systems.Programming Writing computer programs for various purposes.Quality Control Analysis Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.Troubleshooting Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it. Handling and Moving ObjectsAssemble electromechanical or hydraulic systems.Assemble machine tools, parts, or fixtures.Disassemble equipment for maintenance or repair.Install mechanical components in production equipment.Mount attachments or tools onto production equipment.Move product using pallet jack or fork lift to designated areaInspecting EquipmentCheck for safety hazards per 6S checklistVerify calibration and offset alignment of production equipmentVerify certification of inspection equipmentMaintaining Mechanical EquipmentMaintain production or processing equipment.Replace worn equipment components.Education/ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent1-2 years of running 3,4, and 5 axis numerical control machines preferredSkills:Mazak, 4 Axis, 5 Axis, Set-up, g&m codes, Fanuc Controls, Haas Controls, haas mill, height gauges, Micrometers, Calipers, Deburring Parts, Smooth X Controls, Vortex i-630VTop Skills Details:Mazak,4 Axis,5 Axis, Set-up, g&m codes, Fanuc Controls, Haas Controls, haas mill, height gauges, Micrometers, Calipers, Deburring Parts, Smooth X Controls, Vortex i-630VAdditional Skills & Qualifications:Breakdown of Production shifts1st: Monday-Thursday 6am-4:30pm2nd shift: Monday- Thursday 4:15pm-2:45am3rd shift: Friday-Sunday 4am-4:30pm (If the employee works all 3 full days they receive an extra 4 hours as comp time) All new employees will go through training for roughly 6-8 weeks before moving to the off shift of 2nd or 3rd. This is so they can learn our processes.
