Overview:Join us for the summer!National Beef, a national leader in the beef industry, is looking for college students ready to explore a career in Beef Production Operations to join our family for the summer of 2023 as a Beef Production Operations Intern.Our internship program will provide you with a hands-on opportunity to work in a Beef Processing facility from start to finish. You will be introduced to our company culture and work practices and learn how our departments function. We have three locations where we will be placing qualified interns: Liberal, Kansas; Dodge City, Kansas; and Tama, Iowa.This is a paid internship. Housing allowance is included where required.Program length: 10-12 weeksResponsibilities:Program highlights for the Beef Production Summer Internship include but are not limited to:You will be working for an industry leader in beef processing!National Beef's production facilities are high-speed operations with a strong focus on safety, quality and yields. You will learn how they are designed to execute complex processes required to support the comprehensive product and program needs of National Beef's diverse customers.You will spend time on the production floor in both harvest and fabrication, and will gain experience while working on rewarding projects to solve real business needsThis experience will provide you with a broad introduction to the National Beef Packing Production Operations process. You will work collaboratively with the Operations Team and have networking opportunities with senior leadership in the facility.As a Beef Production Operations Intern, you will be responsible for completing bi-weekly reports to the Senior Management Team and key Department heads summarizing what you have learned the previous week. The summer will end with a presentation to the Senior Management Team and key Department heads to demonstrate what you have learned.Qualifications:Qualified Candidates for the Beef Production Summer Internship position should possess the following:Enrolled and have completed at least two years in an accredited college degree program focusing in one of the following fields of study:Animal ScienceAg BusinessMicrobiology/ChemistryOther Related Fields may be consideredShould be classified as a junior for the 2022-23 academic year; Sophomores could be considered3.0 GPA in Core Curriculum classesDemonstrated leadership abilities and on-campus involvementStrong analytical and critical thinking skillsAbility to work independently and be self-directed on project workProficient user of all Microsoft productsIntern must be available to work 40 plus hours per week (some weekend work) on-site for the duration of the internshipCompany Overview:National Beef is a leader in producing fresh, chilled and further processed beef products for customers in the U.S. and worldwide.
