Summary:

The Certified Medical Coder is responsible for supporting the coding operations. They will respond to requests for assistance for coding application access, navigation, and tutorials. Prepare coding reports and process documents under the guidance of Director of Coding. Responsible for maintaining and updating department files and documents.



Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Director of Coding, perform the following:


Provides reporting on coding production and quality metrics. Creates and maintains coding data status trackers.
Responds to requests for coding application access, login issues and application support.
Provides communication to providers on documentation feedback that is generated by the coding team.
Updates and maintains coding documents, coding files and trackers. Documents processes in SOP documents.
Assists in creating coding education and provider feedback communications, presentations, and materials.

Experience & Required Qualifications:


Completion of a coding education program
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Problem solving abilities
Excellent communication and customer relation skills
Ability to multi-task
Possess strong organizational skills
Understands HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) guidelines




Certificates and Licenses: CCS or CPC Coding Certification, required.
