Job Description:
Job Description BuyerSummary: This role is responsible for
supplier scheduling and monitoring delivery for purchased parts,
interaction with suppliers in his/her area of responsibility,
monitoring that appropriate inventory levels are maintained, and
tracking supplier performance. How you will do it: The Buyer
establishes and maintains replenishment signals to assure a smooth
flow of materials. Coordinates with Suppliers to assure that
materials are on-site in a timely manner to facilitate accurate and
adequate parts availability to meet customer demands. The Buyer
will manage consignment programs for materials and blanket
purchasing agreements for commodity items. Monitor, track, and
report on supplier compliance to delivery due dates, identify risks
to late delivery and handle escalations with suppliers according to
JCI procedure. Maintains effective working relationships and
communication with all departments. Collaborates with Product
Management, Engineering, and Production Planning in new product
introductions and planned product discontinuations in order to
minimize obsolescence and maximize customer delivery expectations.
Collaborates with Procurement PBU Buyers to ensure Pricing is
maintained accurately in SAP. The Buyer collaborates with AP to
ensure the resolution of invoice discrepancies. What we look
forRequired Qualifications: An Associates Degree and relevant
experience and or at least 2+ years of relevant experience in a
similar role may be considered in lieu of a degree. Knowledge of
manufacturing processes a plus Knowledge of SAP is a plus Preferred
Qualifications: Two (1) to four (2) years of materials or
accounting experience in purchasing or logistics. Proficiency in
Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint),
as well as Internet software and E-mail, is required. Strong
organizational skills Ability to multitask and perform in a high
paced environment Willing to pursue APICS CPIM or CSCP
