SPEECH THERAPIST CONSULTANT (Long Island & Queens)

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Therapy required
• Minimum of two years' experience working with and supporting people with intellectual disabilities
• Current Speech Therapy license/certification for New York operation
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Working knowledge of OPWDD regulations
• Valid driver's license requiredResponsibilities:Perform initial and ongoing Speech Therapy Assessments for persons supported in accordance with OPWDD regulations -Oral Motor/Eating Assessments as neededExpressive/Receptive Communication Assessments as neededDevelop Feeding Guidelines for persons supported as determined by assessmentsAdaptive equipment assessments and recommendations as neededIn-service training for Life's WORC staff as it pertains to Clinical Support Plans and general speech therapy concernsDevelop Person Centered Annual Clinical Support Plans for each person receiving indirect servicesOngoing monitoring and documentation of person's progress each time they are seen at the residenceAttend clinical meetings and Annual Life Plan Meetings as requestedCollaborate and follow through on speech therapy recommendations from committees (i.e. HRC, IRC)Ensure regulatory compliance with implementation of speech therapy servicesMaintains appropriate liability insurance coverageMust become a direct Speech Language Therapist through EPIC Long Island's Article 16 Clinic to provide direct therapy in the homes
