Electrical Engineer to join our Plant Reliability team! This
individual will work closely with the Operations, Maintenance and
Project organizations for multiple production facilities in North
America and will be responsible for all reliability aspects of the
electrical equipment asset life cycle.This position has the
flexibility to be officed out of any of the following locations:
Wichita, KS / Dodge City, KS / Beatrice, NE / Ft. Dodge, IA.Travel
is 25% with up to 50% travel during critical events. Travel is
flexible depending on needs at the business/site and is largely
controlled by the individual. -Regular schedule will be a flexible
8-hour day, Monday through Friday, with -a blended office/remote
working model. This role is eligible for relocation and sign on
incentives.What You Will Do In Your Role
- Develop Electrical Scope of Work for Turnarounds; develop QA/QC
plan, provide oversight of electrical testing, and manage
interactions with Contractors and Utility
- SECORA representative for capital projects for electrical
reliability improvement opportunities
- Lead troubleshooting of electrical equipment issues; facilitate
and promote Root Cause Failure Analysis and utilize findings to
advance strategies around electrical reliability
- Review and appropriately revise equipment criticalities; lead
implementation of criticality-driven asset strategies
- Analyze equipment trends, historical data, and field data to
develop and adjust reliability programs to obtain lowest life cycle
cost of equipment
- Identify, recommend, and champion solutions that reduce risk to
employees, maximize system availability, and achieve lowest cost of
operation
- Conduct gap assessments through periodic audits to gauge
effectiveness of maintenance and reliability work processes;
implement effective solutions to close gaps
- Develop internal and external resources and capabilities, and
arrange for specialized contractors and consultants to assist with
improving the reliability of electrical equipment
- Champion opportunities to transition from time-based
maintenance activities to condition-based maintenance; define and
identify solutions to obtain data that can provide actionable
insights; recommend benchmarks and targets, and methods for data
profiling; monitor data available to drive appropriate actions
- Apply Company's engineering practices; ensure the practices are
used, remain relevant, and keep the business competitive
- Lead and mentor employees to apply Principled Based Management
(PBM) in ways that are consistent with our Guiding Principles and
PBM Framework
- Collaborate with peers across KAES and KII to instill best
practices, share and institutionalize knowledge and provide
technical insight into cross-site initiativesThe Experience You
Will BringRequirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 7+ years of engineering work experience in an industrial
setting working with Medium (> 600V) and Low Voltage Electrical
Equipment
- Demonstrated knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC,
NFPA 70E, etc.)
- Experience in application engineering and troubleshooting of
electrical assets (i.e., switchgear, motors, drives, etc.)
- Experience providing electrical support during Plant Unplanned
Events, Outages and TurnaroundsWhat Will Put You Ahead
- 2+ years of Large (> $1MM) Capital Project Management
experience
- Working knowledge of Schweitzer and GE Multilin relays
including programming
